June 27th - Ohio River Sweep

Dear Neville villagers and friends,

We’re reaching out to invite you to take part in an effort that truly strengthens our village and protects the natural spaces we cherish.  On June 27th, Neville will proudly join communities all along the Ohio River in the annual Ohio River Sweep—a volunteer cleanup spanning the river’s entire 981‑mile length.

Since 1989, the Ohio River Sweep has brought together thousands of volunteers, environmental organizations, and state agencies to remove litter from the riverbanks and restore the health and beauty of the Ohio River and its tributaries.  Thanks to decades of dedication, real progress has been made—but the need remains.  Litter continues to threaten waterways across the globe, and every volunteer plays a meaningful role in protecting our shared environment.

Here in Neville, the river isn’t just scenery — it’s part of our history, our daily life, and our identity as a river town.  By joining the sweep on June 27th, you’ll be helping preserve clean drinking water, support thriving river ecosystems, and keep Neville’s shoreline a place we can all enjoy with pride.

Event Details Ohio River Sweep – Neville, Ohio Cleanup

Date:                          June 27th

Location:              Neville boat landing

Purpose:               Removing litter from Neville’s stretch of the Ohio River as part of the larger basin‑wide effort

Who Can Join:        Residents, families, students, local groups — everyone is welcome

Whether you’ve volunteered before or this will be your first time, your time and energy make a real difference.  Together, we can continue Neville’s tradition of caring for the river that has shaped our community for generations.
